About the race
Malmö Marathon is organized by IF Malmö Löp in collaboration with Malmö Marathon AB.
With support from Malmö City, we have drawn up a course with a start and finish at Ribersborg. At the moment, we cannot present a very detailed course as it may be adjusted according to various road works that are planned for 2025. What we can say is that the marathon course will go south along easy-to-run roads and then turn back towards the city to connect with the half-marathon course that will go through both parks and central Malmö.
The timing will be held by EST Mika:timing, who also handles the timing for Stockholm Marathon and Vasaloppet among others. The timing is done via an electronic chip that is attached to the number tag. The timing starts when you run across the start line, and stops when you run across the finish line (net time). Split times will also be measured along the course.
Malmö Marathon: 42 195m
Malmö Half marathon: 21 097m
Yes. As we will be affecting Malmö’s city traffic on race day, we have a limited amount of time to use Malmö’s streets. For the marathon, the maximum time is set at 6 hours and the runner must have completed 21 km after 3 hours and 30 km after four hours and 15 minutes. The half marathon distance is slightly more generous and will adapt to the marathon’s lap times.
How great that you can consider volunteering!
Please fill out our application form and we will contact you as the race approaches.
Yes. There will be service stations along the course with water, sports drinks and energy.
